Come with me and I'll show you Central Quebec. We've all passed through this region on our way to Quebec City or Montreal, but for my part, it wasn't a region I had spent much time in. We had the chance to discover several incredible spots for Quebec families, and it's with great joy that I present them to you. You'll see that Drummondville has much more to offer than you might think. We discovered a region rich in history, nature, and delicious food. So be sure to save this article for your next trips to Central Quebec. Let’s go!

1. Stop at the Village Québécois d’Antan

Village Québécois d'Antan

1370 Rue Montplaisir, Drummondville

Let yourself be transported back to 1893, to a small village where elections are taking place that very day. We arrived at the village through a time portal, and the children were already excited about going through this famous tunnel. Once there, the effect of being back in the past is striking. The actors are truly dedicated to their roles and spent a lot of time chatting with our kids, who love making new friends. Visit the church, the woodworker, the general store! Join in the village festival, vote in the elections, and participate in the village gossip. Enjoy homemade donuts or an ice cream by the water. As if that wasn't enough, a rope course leads you to the small farm on the other side of the village. We could have spent another two days there, we loved it so much. In the evening, another village comes to life thanks to the light shows by Moment Factory. This is an address not to be missed!

2. Roy Jucep, the Inventor of Poutine

Roy Jucep

1050 Bd Saint-Joseph, Drummondville

To end our day in a magnificent way, we went to Roy Jucep, who is said to be the inventor of poutine. A retro décor sprinkled with orange will make you feel like you're in a 50s diner. Order a poutine of your choice and treat yourself to a glass of their homemade orange juice. There are many types of poutine available. For me, the rib poutine was the winner! One of the best poutines I’ve ever had! The kids also enjoyed their small poutine with fresh cheese curds that squeak. Discover your favorite type by trying them all.

3. Camping des Voltigeurs

Camping des Voltigeurs

575 Rue Montplaisir, Drummondville

End your busy day at Camping des Voltigeurs, located 5 minutes from Roy Jucep. You'll find friendly staff, large play modules for children, a beach-style pool, and water games. Don’t forget to grab some s'mores at the convenience store and why not treat yourself with a good local beer from Aubier Brewery? Make a campfire under the mature trees and watch a beautiful sunset by the river. The campsite offers access to a huge bike path along the river. A magical moment guaranteed!

1. Laser Force Drummondville

Laser Force

2250 Rue Demers, Drummondville

After a good night's sleep at the campsite, head to Laser Force for hours of fun. A large play module is available for kids of all ages. There's also a laser tag center and a glow-in-the-dark mini-putt. Our family’s favorite was the glow-in-the-dark mini-putt. The decorations are simply amazing, and the courses are very fun. Once your game is over, grab a good raspberry slush and head to the arcades to finish this colorful morning of games.

2. L’Établi Brasserie Urbaine

Établi

154 Rue Lindsay, Drummondville

After so much play, you’ll be hungry for sure! So why not take advantage of downtown Drummondville and head to L’Établi? A modern restaurant with a warm atmosphere. If the weather is nice, enjoy a good white sangria on the terrace and delight in their delicious menu. Our favorite? The smoked salmon bagel and the “pouding chômeur.” Absolutely decadent! The kids also loved the chicken nuggets and the s’mores-style dessert. Yum!

3. Parcours Ludique Downtown Tour

To end these two beautiful days, explore downtown to find the playful routes to solve puzzles and go on a treasure hunt. Once done, head to Woodyatt Park to relax under a tree while the kids play on the modules. You can also walk along the river or enjoy the huge water games on site. Personally, these are some of the best water games I’ve tried, and all for free!
