I don’t know why, but I always bring more stuff for a week end at my parent’s house than I do in my week long trips. It’s probably because I don’t take the time to really think about how to optimize my luggage when it’s only for a few days.

My golden rule, is to minimize what I bring for myself so I can allow more space for my kids stuff. So, I need to choose wisely. Here are my 5 favorites pieces of clothing  to bring on trips.

1) My Merinos sweater

It’s well known that Merino wool has several virtues that are very useful when travelling. I particularly appreciate being able to protect myself from bugs, sun and the cold weather while having a breathable garment. It allows me to always be comfortable with the temperature even if it’s cold or hot outside.

2) My reversible “Clothes and roads” tank top

This beautiful clothing line made by a nice quebecer name Marie-Ève, is really something to try if you love travelling. My tank top is my favorite summer piece, I wear it at every occasion I get.

I feel beautiful when I am wearing it and its the most soft, breathable and comfortable piece I own. In addition to being comfortable, it is stretchy, minimally wrinklable and antimicrobial. Let's be honest, it is really practical for vanlife.

I can wear it with the V-neck or turn it backwards to adopt the U-neck style. I chose the plum color that is rich and saturated, but it’s also available in other colors.

3) My sport tops

They’re beautiful. They’re comfortable. They provide good support. That way, I’m ready to go for an impromptu hike, but also to sip a glass of wine in a vineyard.

Plus, if I ever get my clothes dirty and I need to take it off to wash it (thanks kids), I don’t feel almost naked like I would in a regular bra!

4) A stylish scarf

Most of the time I choose plain or sober clothes that can easily fit together. It allows me to bring less and free up space for my favorite fashion accessory that goes well with almost everything, a stylish scarf. Depending on the season, I choose a lighter or a warmer one. A great way to play around with the little clothing I got.

5) My faventure hoodie

Ok I may toot my own horn a bit, but I really do like the softness and warmth of my sweater faventure. It allows me to be warm while having style and keep a casual look. I especially love it early in the morning or on the campfire in the evening.

It’s printed by a Montreal company : Art of where. A way to help not one, but two local companies.
