Hey hey the adventurous!

With the multitude of activities organized this fall, I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do. I finally chose to go to Ara-Feria and I didn’t regret it. I’ll tell you how our family outing went.

What to do in fall season ?

Trees that change colors little by little create a craze like no other in Quebec. Everyone wants to make the most of this short period when the colors is at its best.  It’s simple, if I could, I would have chosen to do everything. So I had to prioritize to do an activity that I REALLY couldn’t miss.

The weather was a bit gloomy, but the children were more than enthusiastic to go on an Adventure. So we went to Saint-Calixte in Lanaudière and it was the best choice ever.

When I got there, I let the kids choose what they wanted to do. There are over 45 different activity stations. There was so many things to chose from that they were all over the place. There were a lot of families, but  because  its such a big place, we didn't feel like we step on each others toes.

Ara-Feria activities

The kids started at a car station. Nicolas enjoyed driving the plastic police car. He was proud to move around with it while Charlie tried several different models. I think they preferred pedal vehicles, unclear.

Then they went building towers with foam bricks then,  played drums with chopsticks on barrels. Then, it was time for inflatable games. We stayed there the most as it was full of so many to choose from. They also tried the scooter for the first time and played like little gorillas with gymnastic rings. They had so much to do that they missed the animation show.

After all those activities, they enjoyed the giant 4 power game. They ended their day with some more inflatable game set near the zip line. Nicolas finally decided to try it, but unfortunately it was too late. The site closed a few minutes later.

Enjoy fall scenery

I then decided on the next activity. I wanted to see the landscape from the top of the 50-foot observation tower. I wasn’t disappointed by the scenery, but it didn’t go as planned.

After climbing the stairs to the top, Nicolas told us that he needed to go to the bathroom... number two... Oups, what a timing. Guillaume went down the stairs with the two oldest to avoid the catastrophe. I took the time to admire the landscape with my little Alaska before getting back down. It wasn’t the moment I imagined, but we don’t control everything...

When I found them, they were playing in a giant Tangram station. You know, these are the geometric shapes that you place so they all fit on a square. It’s kind of hard, but they seemed to have fun anyway.

From there, you could see the children ziplining. The system instilled confidence and it seemed safe, but Charlie is really afraid of what’s sliding too fast since she had a little sled accident last winter. Nicolas followed his older sister’s decision.

Not enough time for everything

We spent more than five hours there and we didn’t even have time to do everything. The kids were a bit disappointment because they really wanted to do the pumpkin decoration activity, but we didn't got there in time. But no worry, I'll do this activity at home with them. If you go, arrive early. We would have liked to do the walk in the forest, the maze, the bouldering and much more.

At the exit, the biggest highlight of the day was waiting for us. Stella, Marcus and Chase from the “real” Paw Patrol were there to say goodbye. On the way home, Charlie cried because she missed Stella. Fortunately, the sadness of my poor little kitten was very fleeting.
