Hey hey the adventurous!

When you take the time to think about it, apple time begins around August 15 and ends around October 15. So it lasts 2 months out of 12...

An apple outing is really fun. The picking season represents 1/6 of the year. So why limit yourself to only one time?

It's in this spirit that I visited the Verger Les Jardins d'Émilie wich I found on faventure and I was not disappointed.

1) faventure to find out wich orchard to choose

Yeah, I decided to do it again and do more than one apple outing. I still wanted to do try another place  to avoid a protest from my troops.

With so many orchards in Quebec province, I chose to go to a place I had never been before.  It was a situation where the use of faventure was ideal.

To the delight of my boy Nicolas, a tractor ride took us near the apple trees to start the picking. Quickly, my little pickers fulfilled their mandate. Then, the real fun began.

2) Kids play structures and cider

There is no shortage of activities. My little adventurers no longer knew where to start. They liked the game module, but then they launched into the inflatable game module. It did them good to spend their  energy while I went to get a few cider to taste.

I really liked the shop which was filled with local products of all kinds. There was beer, wine, cider, apple butter, spreads, jellies, fruit ketchup, pies, pâtés, homemade sausages, hams, grilled meats, spaghetti sauces and other delicacies.  I let myself be tempted by their apple fritters.

I went back to Guillaume, who was watching the children sitting at a picnic table. We tasted the doughnuts. They’re so good you won't believe it. Dipped into apple butter, incredible! I felt like not having the kids taste them to keep more for myself, but I still couldn’t deprive them of this pleasure of life. Just like us, they loved it. Then they immediately jumped back into their inflatable fortress.

So I was able to enjoy cider tasting with Guillaume. It was a great time to relax. A little later, my relaxation was interrupted by Nicolas who hurt himself. Guillaume went to console him, but a little girl named Mélodie who, like my coco, is two and a half years old, decided to take care of our boy.

It was so cute to see his new friend take care of him and flatter his head tenderly by comforting him with sweet words. A few days later, Nicolas asked me again where was her friend Mélodie. It’s cuter than I can handle.

3) Amazed by the mini-farm

Before leaving, we took the time to visit the mini-farm which contains rabbits, chickens, goats, sheep and a pony. To top it all, my seven-month-old Alaska girl realized for the first time that there were animals.

Seeing her smile and get excited after her discovery warmed my heart. The chickens were the most sensational attraction for her. Like what, true happiness is in the little things. I love discovering the world through the eyes of my children. It always brings me back to the point.

So it is with a lot of apples, a full belly, a light heart, Nicolas' first little love and the marvelling eyes of Alaska that we end this most successful apple day.
