The moment you step into Frima, it truly feels like you’re entering another world. Massive illuminated animals—giant polar bears, oversized toy horses, glowing decorations—line the forest paths. The site is big. If possible, arrive early, because even after four hours on-site (from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.), we still didn’t have time to see everything.
The kids were amazed from the very first minute. They ran toward the giant structures, the glowing bears, the giant slides, the elves, the decorations, the sheer magic all around them. It’s the kind of place where you never have to encourage your kids to keep walking—they set the pace themselves because there’s so much to explore.
One of the strongest moments of the whole experience is definitely the visit to Santa’s House. The smell of warm cookies hit us as soon as we stepped in—instant childhood flashback. In the entrance, Mrs. Claus’ collection of tiny Christmas houses is absolutely adorable.
And then, the highlight: Santa himself, waiting at his desk to greet the children one by one.
They got to share their wish lists, explain what the “K-Pop warriors” are, and even warn him (very seriously!) that his underwear hanging outside on the clothesline were a little too visible.
Mrs. Claus had a good laugh!
I was also blown away by how kind, professional, and genuinely dedicated the staff were. You can feel that they truly love creating this magical moment for families.
After Santa’s House, we headed to the giant slides, the outdoor play area, and all the sparkling lights that turn the forest into a movie set. Even once the sun went down, the magic didn’t fade.
While the kids played with the elves, the adults warmed up by the fire. Hot chocolate for the little ones, a “joyous” hot chocolate for the grown-ups. Then we made “eternal snow” in Bric-à-Brac the elf’s workshop, followed by a stop at the huge North Pole mailbox to drop off their Christmas letters.
We wrapped up the evening with the final show featuring the elves and the famous “penguin dance,” before reluctantly heading out.
To make the experience last a little longer, we stayed overnight at La Cache à Maxime, located right next door. We had a spacious, comfortable suite perfect for a family.
Dinner was delicious—especially the tartare and the poutine with Beauceron cheese. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive, both at dinner and again at breakfast the next morning.
It was the perfect ending to a day that will stay in our memories for a long time.
