We arrived early in the morning, and I highly recommend you do the same. The morning light hitting the pumpkin fields is absolutely beautiful, and you’ll avoid the crowds. The owners (and their adorable dog) greeted us warmly before taking us on a tractor ride around their vast property, through the fields and into a little forest. We then explored a spooky forest trail filled with Halloween decorations. Of course, there are plenty of pumpkins to pick, but also different varieties of squash, picnic tables, and a big playground. The highlight? Over three different corn mazes — from “seek and find” to puzzle challenges and various route lengths. There’s something for everyone! We picked the Lilo & Stitch-themed maze, perfect for the kids’ attention span and about fifteen minutes of pure fun.
Did you know they’re officially recognized as the inventors of poutine? It’s not a Halloween spot per se, but you’ve got to eat somewhere — and their orange branding fits the vibe perfectly! You have to try their famous sparkling orange juice — it’s divine — and their Bang-Bang poutine… hands down the best I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously, this is the place for poutine in the area.
Every Halloween season, the historic Village Québécois d’Antan gets all dressed up for the occasion. From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the site transforms into The Village of Little Monsters. We came in costume, which made the experience even more fun! This year’s theme was the circus — spooky enough to excite the kids, but not too scary. Think colorful clown vibes and tons of activities: obstacle courses, a petting farm, inflatable games, and creative workshops for little ones. Themed houses like the House of Illusions are absolutely worth a visit. The only downside? There’s so much to do that you can’t fit it all into one afternoon. Pick your favorites and make the most of it.
Have you heard about the St-Hubert restaurant in Drummondville that transforms into a haunted manor every October? I had — and expected a few decorations here and there — but wow, was I wrong. The entire restaurant gets a full spooky makeover: moving cabinets, Halloween decor even in the restrooms, thunder and lightning effects, eerie background music, and even a ghostly actor wandering from table to table greeting guests in a haunting tone. It’s such a fun and unexpected experience, definitely worth a visit! Just make sure to book ahead — it’s super popular, and once you’re there, you’ll see why.
This year’s edition has wrapped up, but mark your calendar for 2026! The vibe is festive and warm, with Louisiana-style music, fortune-tellers, and tarot readers. Live performances light up the night — we even got to see the farewell tour kickoff of Kaïn, a band we’ve loved since our early days as a couple (time flies!). It’s a perfect way to celebrate fall with the whole family.
This wasn’t our first stay here, and it remains one of our favorite campgrounds. It’s perfectly located: just two minutes from the Village Québécois d’Antan and five from the Trad Cajun Festival — ideal for combining local fun and cozy lodging. Fall camping here is simply magical: no bugs, fewer people, golden sunlight, and a peaceful vibe that helps you truly unwind. The site is large, well-kept, and ideal for families, with big play areas where kids can run safely. Good news: the campground stays open in “autonomous mode” until October 26, with 40 available sites for campers wanting to soak in the last days of autumn. The main service building and store are closed, but the main washroom block remains accessible, and you can still buy firewood for a perfect end-of-season campfire.
This shop recently got a huge upgrade, moving into a space three times bigger than the original. The whole family will be dazzled by the place. You can feel the love and care poured into every detail — it’s like stepping into a movie set: magical suitcases, moving portraits, a candy corner, and the famous Magikanimal Adoption Ceremony. It’s a must-do experience for kids (and any Harry Potter fans out there). In October, the shop is decked out with stunning Halloween decorations, making the visit even more enchanting. Definitely a family favorite!

The experience is super fun, but make sure your kids aren’t too easily scared. My seven-year-old daughter was terrified, but my five-year-old son absolutely loved it!
