Share our values, learn and create memories you'll remember forever are directly connected to the benefits of doing family activities. Here are a few facts to help you get the motivation you need to multiply those family outings.

No matter if it's a small or a big adventure, they are meant to take you out of your daily routine and comfort zone. This imbalance offers lots of ways to take benefits out of it.

1) Adventure helps the motricity of the kids

While participating in adventures, kids try new movements or do some they didn't had the chance of doing a lot. It makes them evolve and learn quicker.

Climb a surface, a rock, a structure, jumping around, throw or hit objects, walk or run on unequal surface, etc. All of the above are amazing ways to develop global motricity, balance but also endurance and strengh.

2) Experiences contribute to learning lots of new skills

When living lots of experiences, kids learn a number of new skills that can help build their personality and taste. For example, a kid who wins a challenge or solve a problem gain confidence in his own ability and grow is self-confidence.

By letting our kid be free of its movement, he will develop his autonomy, resourcefulness, capacity to adapt, perseverance and independence.

Creating context where there is no screen allows the child to increase his curiosity, his taste for discoveries and exploration in addition to stimulating his creativity. Those are excellent qualities so they can walk brilliantly throughout their life.

3) Family activities contribute to better health for parents and kids

Integrating regular family activities such as : Hiking, biking, climbing, etc.  can help obtain and maintain an active lifestyle for all the family members.

It's without a doubt that there are positive and significant impacts that are created for cardiovascular health. Also, the reduction of the risks of diabetes and hypertension. In addition, it promotes bone density and therefore makes bones less likely to break.

Plus, did you know that being outdoor for 45-minute periods a day would help reduce the risk of developing myopia?

Physical activity provides a sense of well-being and contributes to good mental health. It improves the quality of sleep, helps reduce stress, anxiety and symptoms related to depression. There is also the decrease of symptoms of the famous ADD and ADHD since it would help increase concentration and improve memory.

4) Being out of everyday life brings multiple opportunities for learning through experience

For both adults and children, learning through experience is meaningful and allows several concepts to be integrated simultaneously.

For me, watching my children try a variety of experiences and gradually learn to assess and manage risks, helps me learn at the same time as them, trust and risk management.

I now like to see them test their limits. It allows them to fully use their potential and evolve. By learning to know themselves and their own limits, children already know what's suitable for them and make their own thoughts and conclusions. For example: Am I able to climb there? Is it safe for me to jump from that height? Is this path suitable for my abilities or should I choose another one?

As long as risk management is well integrated, letting them make mistakes along the way, can only make them learn quicker and boost their confidence. They also learn that mistakes happen and it’s not that bad. They stumble, make little bumps, slip, can’t solve a situation without help, made a bad clothing choice, played in puddles and maybe shouldn’t have...

They learn that they have the right to make mistakes and that they are a great way to learn. We, as parents, make mistakes too. Especially when we are out of our comfort zone! When our children see us fumble, it is healthy. Especially if we are open about it, recognize it and we express it to them.

5) Family activities allow for optimal circumstances to pass on our values to our children.

By spending quality time with our families while doing activities that resemble us, we can show our kids our core values.

Without necessarily doing it consciously, we can share our values such as unconditional love, family, respect, tradition, sense of responsibility, social and environmental awareness, overcoming oneself, etc.

By being in action as a family, it is easier to get time without screens. It creates the perfect moment to talk about everyone's reality. It brings us to talk about our view of life and listen to our kids talk about their view on it.

Also, facing  problems together such as finding your way back or handling a conflict is very powerful to show them values of cooperation and problem solving.

Doing activities even when the weather is not on our side or when someone is in a bad mood can show great examples of perseverance that can after being applied by our little one.

6)  Planning family adventures brings your family together and creates meaningful memories.

Beautiful photos to look at, stories to tell, treasures to remember, growing the sense of belonging to the family and knowing that dreams are possible are some of the benefits that remain after having adventures.

By spending more time out of the ordinary, your older kids will have amazing memories of those times. For the younger ones, maybe they won't remember everything, but the feeling of it will certainly help build the roots of their personality.

In addition to the memorable moments for the parents, having adventures with the whole family is encouraging and gives a feeling of intense pride.
